1. Simhangsan Observatory (A.K.A. 'Crocodile Island Observatory') ๐️
This is the most representative spot to view Crocodile Island. You can search for 'Simhangsan Observatory' on your navigation system, but you'll need to walk up a steep path for about 15-20 minutes after parking. Sneakers are a must! Once you arrive at the observatory, the magnificent view of Crocodile Island unfolding before your eyes will make you exclaim 'Wow~'. If you go early in the morning, you can see Crocodile Island enveloped in mist, and that sight is truly spectacular.
- Pros: The optimal viewpoint to capture the entire Crocodile Island at a glance.
- Cons: Requires walking after parking, and the path can be steep. (Caution advised for the elderly or children)

3. Jungangtap Park & Chungju Museum ๐️
Although a little distant from Chungju Lake's Crocodile Island, these are important places to deeply understand Chungju's history and culture. Jungangtap Park is home to National Treasure No. 6, Jungangtap (Seven-story Stone Pagoda in Tapyeong-ri), the only Unified Silla pagoda remaining in the Jungwon region. Next to the park, the Chungju Museum offers a comprehensive view of Chungju's history and culture. Highly recommended for family visitors.
